Museo de los Ninos (Children's Museum), Caracas

3.5
#5 of 14 in Museums in Caracas
Dedicated to teaching young visitors about the importance of science, Museo de los Ninos (Children's Museum) was founded by Alicia Pietri de Caldera, former first lady of Venezuela. The museum features a large section about space, as well as five stories of interactive exhibits on science, technology, culture, and the arts. These sections contain hands-on exhibits allowing children to learn by doing, perhaps the best way to introduce budding scientists to new fields of study. I was very happy so my son knew the site that year sighed. In fact, for a long time I dreamed to be Guide, but not living in Caracas. The Museum has been a Venezuelan jewel, very advanced at the time. But it is very out of date, staff nothing charming, not connected, not conquest. Get to the Museum and see the surroundings, is really disheartening because the visual Central Park shows the agony of the country. Sincerely, go for extreme solidarity, because our children have to know our places, because it is proper to take a tour in our museums. But, today's generation is not identified with these exhibitions. We went in a group, meet several companions of the University and went with our children and everyone wanted to go. However, we were happy to return to a place that was the setting for the joy of many Venezuelans. Success for all those who work and strive to keep it open.

Although I've been many years without going, was really what better could be given to a child, a walk through there. Not is if they have updated what was there (I doubt it)

At one point this used to be a great museum , a place where you could expose kids to science , nature , biology etc with a different and super entertaining approach . But everything is really old and outdated and by the way it looks apparently they haven't invested a single dine in renewing it or at least keeping things working .

Where to stay in Caracas

Safety is the number one priority when choosing an area to stay in Caracas. The city has many no-go zones, although accommodations are typically located in safer areas. Nevertheless, it's worth asking your hotel receptionist for advice before you go out on your own. Caracas offers a range of mid-range and luxury hotels at surprisingly high prices, with few budget hostels available. The areas around Bulevar Sabana Grande and farther east are generally considered the safest options of foreign travelers.
