Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Park, Caracas

3.3
#1 of 9 in Parks in Caracas
#Nature / Park, #Must See
Combining three distinctly different natural areas, Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Park allows tourists to see the city from a different side, with locals going about their daily lives. Take a walk through the park to see a grassy field, dense forest, and landscaped garden. A stroll along paved garden paths brings you to water features and murals made of tiles. Notice groups of runners using the park as their workout space, picking their way through the  sometimes crowded pathways. Bring some money if you're interested in shopping for handicrafts at the street market or tasting local foods. • East Park is the second big lung of Caracas but the crime as in other parts of the city can make them a hard time. Please follow these tips to reduce the possibility of a bad time. -Do not walk alone. There are always people exercising and it's easy to join a group. Criminals avoid large groups. Jewelry and luxury home phones. We came to spend some time to distract us and exercise. No need to be exposed. Avoid walking in secluded areas. The Park is very large if it is better to be where East the largest number of people. Sees people with suspicious attitude to notify the authorities. It is preferable to take the time to alert and not have a bad time. Prevention is the key. I hope that they can enjoy the park with security but they remember that security begins by oneself

  • This park was one of the most iconic places in Caracas, full of families, activities and zoo animals. Due to the poor maintenance and lack of funds the park is now highly deteriorated. It has also become a place of many thefts and it is very unsafe.
  • I saw two teenage boys muggingg an old man and the national guard did nothing. Apparently this happens a lot there.
  • It used to be great. Poor maintenance now
  • Great place to exercise, meditate, walk around or just read a book.
  • For those of us who run it's heaven every morning. Some decay but hard to give it less
