Pay a visit to the 17th-century Catedral Metropolitana de Caracas to see where Simon Bolivar was baptized and married. The cathedral contains the private chapel of the Bolivar family, which also serves as the final resting place for Simon's wife and parents. A typical colonial structure, this house of worship boasts a tall bell tower with a clock at the top. Inside, 32 columns separate the central nave from two minor naves, while a sculpture of Simon Bolivar sits in the right aisle. • It's a beautiful cathedral that looks out of place in the middle of the city. It lacks the majestic enormity of the stone cathedrals in Europe but it's well taken care of.  more »

  • Bella iglesia, arquitectonicamente historica y de ecepcional edificacion
  • The Cathedral, seat of the Archdiocese of Caracas, it is the main Catholic Church in the city. Not only has significant cultural but also historical, since internally it has separate spaces that recall events and important characters of Venezuela related to the faith of the people.

  • Grand place. It is often not crowded. It retains its colonial spirit. In it you can see one of the last works of Arturo Michelena, in addition to the crypt of the Bol√≠var family.
