  • Despite be in ruins, the castle is history alive, in said Castle was the national hero Francisco of Miranda and is fought important battles in the protection of so important bastion protective of Venezuela and of their reserves of salt (as sought as the gold in that time). Note: Government and Ministry of the tourism should pay you more attention and allocate resources to the preservation and promotion of destinations tourist of so high value as Araya, its people and its castle. (Mismanagement). If you are traveling to Venezuela, you must visit Araya, its castle and its beaches (one of the best in Venezuela), and if you consider yourself a true adventurer, I recommend you know the desert of Chacopata and throw you an expedition from the Araya Peninsula to the Paria.

  • Although a part of the Castle now in ruins the view towards the sea is magic... for those who prefer to move barges can seize them in Cumaná. but it is best out of Cariaco and follow the road towards chacopata to Araya... Food and additional services there are accommodations, beach as the Car {upano deep in cold water and waves... in the entrance of the village is the saline, even is appreciated part of the process of extraction of salt... carry drinks enough because in season high is difficult get because not there are many liquor stores, it bad is that breeze strong that lifts sand and comes to be annoying

  • It is beautiful, the only bad thing is that people who live nearby and visitors don't care it and there are lot of garbage to your around, there are also many abandoned dogs, this makes it beautiful, but very sad place

  • If you like simple tourists liked beaches and the typical food of the area. But if you open your eyes and your mind, you will see the historical importance that had for many years this castle. Although only remain the ruins, its size is imposing. The difficult and complex that was to build it at that time and with the technology they had. The sunsets are breathtaking and if on their Cliff dive you will see much more beauty. For my was a very good visit.
