Million Dollar Bay, Luganville

(3.8/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Snorkelers will be in heaven at Million Dollar Bay, a stretch of white sand shoreline and clear waters, where visitors can explore World War II wreckage just offshore. At the end of the war, Americans dumped gear and equipment into the sea, including heavy equipment like bulldozers, containers, artillery, and boats. As the years have passed, marine life has incorporated the foreign items into their environment. Today you can snorkel above the wreckage now decorated with reefs and tropical fish that creates a unique sight. Make Million Dollar Bay part of your personalized Espiritu Santo itinerary using our Espiritu Santo vacation builder.

  • My husband insisted we visit Santo as he had dived the Coolidge and missed out on Million Dollar Point. I gotta say we were disappointed - snorkeled site 2 times and both were murky with a strong rip....  more »
  • Aptly know for the amount of items costing millions of dollars which sunk in the sea! Gee for drivers too! Very popular with tourists coming on cruise excursions.  more »
  • Considering the immensity of the value of what was dumped and what could have been if the equipment was used to develop the country. Still dive both sites anyway.  more »
