Millenium Cave, Luganville

(4.8/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
Experience one of the best tours of Vanuatu at Millenium Cave, an adventurous and active journey into prehistoric caves and past breathtaking waterfalls. The tour begins with a hike deep into the jungle before reaching a deep hole, which marks a steep descent into the cave. Safety gear, including ropes, ladders, helmets, and headlights, are provided to help you through the cave. Stop to admire the smooth limestone walls and try to spot bats that live here. The cave opens up to a canyon and a freshwater creek, which visitors float down past numerous waterfalls. A moderate fitness level is required for this attraction, and remember to wear shoes and clothes you do not mind getting muddy. Millenium Cave is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Espiritu Santo Edition.

  • It does require a moderate to high level of fitness, but is definitely doable if taken at a slower speed. Don't schedule the tour when time limits apply (eg boarding times) as the time it takes varies...  more »
  • Everything starts with a nice walk in the jungle to a five hundred meters long cave, which is just the beginning of staggering landscapes at the bottom of a very steep rocky Valley overhung by jungle, until that one goes down while climbing the stone blocks and swimming in the river. Amazing from start to finish. But be careful: it takes a good physical shape to trudge! The dream if you have adventurous spirit.
