  • Firstly, the ruler of Khiva pleaded a vassal of the Emperor of Russia. So for this Russian Explorer city interesting from a historical point of view. Secondly, one of the sights of Khiva is camel, which lies dormant in the old quarter. Thirdly, here come the wedding procession in the Café, so we are constantly fed meals of Masha. In Samarkand it had no Café. But the décor of local madrassa late: beginning of 20 c. the blue-and-white, thin. Of course, Samarkand, he loses.

  • If going to Uzbekistan make the most of time in the west of the country where the culture feels rich and authentic. The eastern cities still hold much of the soviet memories.
  • Through the mud walls of Itchan Kala "old town" is literally a step back in time. The city maintains a mysterious charm. You feel like you see at any moment the caravans of slaves or those of merchants of spices and silks. At sunset when the fronts of medresse are flooded by the golden light of the setting sun the scenery takes on an even more impressive atmosphere. At night, turn between the winding alleys and admiring profiles of inclined columns illuminated only by the light of the Moon, it is truly a magical experience.

  • One of the most favourite place in Uzbekistan. In the evening it becomes quiet and more romantic place :)
  • Very comfortable to travel. All historical places in one city. But make sure you visit Ayaz-Kala, pay extra 50000 sums to get a driver for half a day.
  • Sadly, the skins of countless small animals are marketed to tourists in the old city of Khiva, Uzbekistan. There's no excuse for animal abuse.
