  • Khiva-City-Museum under the open sky, was founded more than two millennia ago and polovinyj was a beautiful and prosperous city of Khorezm. According to legend, Khiva has appeared on the site of the well which was dug one of the three sons of Noah and gave a startlingly delicious water. In ancient Khiva was divided into three parts: Kunya-Ark fortress, suburb-dishan-Kala and city-ichan-Kala. Ichan-Kala and now inhabited by people mainly engaged in remeslenichestvom. If entering the city from the North Gate, you can climb a wall and walk along it (with young children do not recommend!). The most beautiful landmark, a symbol of Khiva, this Kalta Minar minaret, which completed only one third and was supposed to become the tallest minaret in Central Asia, it is paved with majolica-blue sky, azure and Emerald colors! Very recommend to climb the Minaret of Djuma-mosque opened the most beautiful views! The climb is hard enough-steps of different heights, at the bottom is very dark, but it's worth it! Price-5th. soum (approximately 50 rubles). The mosque itself is also interesting-the ceiling draws on 213 wooden pillars with beautiful ornamental carvings created in XI-XV centuries and brought here from other ancient buildings. Also very beautiful views from the Tower of Sheikh-Bobo. In our reading, that it meet the most beautiful sunsets, but unfortunately, the entrance to the tower is closed much earlier, and for ...

  • One of the most favourite place in Uzbekistan. In the evening it becomes quiet and more romantic place :)
  • Brilliant preservation of old city. VERY friendly locals.
  • Very comfortable to travel. All historical places in one city. But make sure you visit Ayaz-Kala, pay extra 50000 sums to get a driver for half a day.
  • Очень красиво!
  • Sadly, the skins of countless small animals are marketed to tourists in the old city of Khiva, Uzbekistan. There's no excuse for animal abuse.
