Moschea Bolo-khauz, Bukhara
(4.7/5 based on 110 reviews on the web)
Admire the 18th-century complex of Moschea Bolo-khauz, a well-preserved mosque that features one of the few remaining "khauz," or reservoir ponds, in Bukhara. The still-active mosque stands on a spacious square, its colonnaded gallery reflected in the still waters of the reservoir. Admire the vibrantly decorated wooden porch, adorned with vividly painted columns and intricate tile-work, and step inside to view the simple interior. Remember to dress modestly.
