  • I was up all night to see the ruins but passing by the road I found the road. Leaving the main road we need to take a road of approximately 25 km of land.

  • To reach the ruins of the defunct plant must follow the route 5. Is 85 km from Rivera and the on-site visit lasts about 1 hour. Is an interesting place, but there is no guide. Maybe that's why the graffiti have been taking care of the place. If you follow the route 29 for another 12 km you will arrive in the town of Minas de Corrales. There's not much to do there. There is a viewpoint from where you can view the mining company in operation (needs permission to join in the mines) and two old tunnels (mouth of mine), and you can get in one of them.

  • Visiting the ruins of what was the first hydro power plant of South America is rather fascinating. The dam on the Cunapiru Brook existed until the floods in 1958. Today are the vestiges of the same, the turbines, sinks where processed the material received from the gold mines via train and aerocarril, offices, and a small town where the workers lived. The old towers of the aerocarril iron still in the 14 km that separate the old usina mine. A very recommendable walk.
