Puerto de Punta del Este, Punta del Este

Take a stroll along the boardwalk at Puerto de Punta del Este, one of the busiest marinas in South America. Serving as an international gateway to Uruguay, the marina features 490 moorings, with the capacity to hold up to 350 boats at once. Keep an eye out for sea lions swimming between the luxurious yachts that invariably drop anchor at the marina. Make sure you pop into the fish market, where you can barter over all kinds of fresh catches. After your walk, sample a local seafood dish at one of the many restaurants dotted around the marina. • A beautiful sunset to view from anywhere. There is the most beautiful place because the Sun is the same in every corner.

  • We disembarked for a few hours in Punta del Este. The malecón heading to Playa Brava is very cute, all wood, you can take some beautiful photos there. There are bathers and vendors who take advantage of the long lines to return to the boat of tourists. The Uruguayans are very friendly, attentive, laughing and Nice. They know to make visitors feel good. Punta del este is modern and very touristic. I was wanting to know more about that country (the most typical)

  • Playground of the rich and famous. This place compares to the best locations I've seen anywhere in Europe or in the world for that matter. It truly is spectacular. The buildings here remind of Miami, Florida and it's clean with so many high class eateries and beautiful evening views. It's definitely worth a visit if you ever come to Uruguay.
  • Interesting to see the boats and the sea lions , especially when the fishing boats return with the catch. Great for buying fresh fish
  • Nice port, good place to get fish in morning, birds and Seawolves are visible very often. Good place to chill.
  • lindo como siempre
  • Love to walk around this place. View 5 stars .

Where to stay in Punta del Este

A major vacation destination, Punta del Este boasts a wide range of accommodation options, though most establishments remain relatively expensive even during the off-season. Summer marks the peak of tourism (December to March), and during that time even mid-range hotels charge top rates. Visitors with deeper pockets can choose from a number of three- and four-star hotels within walking distance of good beaches. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider one of the hostels scattered throughout Punta del Este's residential neighborhoods.
