Los Dedos de Punta del Este, Punta del Este

Many people interpret Los Dedos de Punta del Este as either a hand of a zombie god come to take his vengeance on a sinful Earth, or the grasping fingers of a buried giant. In fact, neither assumption is correct. Created by Chilean artist Mario Irrazabal in 1982, the beach sculpture has since become an iconic attraction in Punta del Este. Take an artistic photo of the sculpture and imagine all the mythical creatures it might represent. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Punta del Este trip simple and quick.

  • Go to Punta del Este and not at least give a passadinha in this landmark would be a sin. The beach is really beautiful, almost no waves and little fingers make all the difference.

  • Surfing is a drug. Between waves is a lull of pure contentment. Vaguely you remember the last ride. More though is that click in the brain anticipating the next rush. Walk out of the water through all the sedentary people. Those most committed to immobility are getting high with their gourds of mate.
  • This is an iconic image, a sculpture that appears in books, movies, and websites featuring Punta del Este and even Chile, in general. The fingers protrude from the sand on the beach, on an elevated area. It is well posited and an effective image. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the "fingers sculpture" surface is worn in many places and it needs refinishing.
  • If you have seen the world don't bother to spend your time here. There are a lot a beautiful places in the world that this place. For what it offers Punta del Este the prices are crazy high like in Monaco, except that isn't Monaco. These fingers are nothing like in the internet pictures, they are rusty, not in sand, you can't take a photo there because is full of people.
  • La Mano is a sculpture in Punta del Este by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal. It depicts five human fingers partially emerging from sand and is located on Parada 1 at Brava Beach in Punta del Este, a popular resort town in Uruguay. It is a fun place to click pictures and then take a nice swim in the beach
  • Not so impressive as in the picture you can see on the web. Crowed of people..
