Museo Taller de Casa Pueblo, Punta Ballena
Categories: Art Galleries, Art Museums, Museums
View the architectural marvel of Museo Taller de Casa Pueblo, a charming and quirky white villa that cascades nine stories down a cliff on Punta Ballena. Designed by Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Villaro, the whimsical structure was where he lived out the rest of his days; today, it houses a hotel, museum, art gallery, and cafe. Reminiscent of Santorini's white cliff houses, the terraced building is dedicated to the artist's son, who was killed in the 571 Air Force Flight airplane crash. View Villaro's other art, spread across four exhibition rooms, watch a film about his life, and enjoy the ocean view with a refreshing drink in the cafe. Put Museo Taller de Casa Pueblo on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Punta Ballena trip itinerary maker.
