Cerro del Toro, Piriapolis

(3.2/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Hike up Cerro del Toro, a minor hill that offers a wealth of hiking routes through a biologically rich area. At 253 m (830 ft) tall, the hill offers a good walking option close to town--do wear decent hiking boots, as the path gets pretty rocky and steep in places. Half way up the hill, you'll find a life-size statue of a bull, made in bronze and with a natural water source emerging from its mouth. Enjoy the vista from the bull's semi-circle vantage point, or head up to the hill's summit. • Excellent adventure to enjoy with kids (if you like sport). A very good exercise to scale, can scale to 3 different levels first to the statue of the bull which are stairs, the second level to the statue of the puma, half staircase and half way between stones, is half damaged the statue would be great serviced a little. The third segment is the most entertaining and challenging, a path well marked between stones and nature, not very dangerous, although there is a small risk of slipping. Get to the Virgin who is at the top is all a victory, beyond whether one is a believer or not, the view is excellent. Is worth the effort that is not so. RECOMMEND: good shoes with good grip, comfortable clothes and a bottle of water, preferably in a small backpack, thing of having their hands free.

  • Out of the common. But full of nature and symbolism that is not explained in the place but researched it on the internet.

  • A place that is part of the three sources constructed by Piria. Historically served as a watchtower. You can walk are 20 minutes the road is asphalted in very good condition or is auto. I recommend to make a journey in contact with nature and different.
