Cerro del Toro, Piriapolis

3.7
#5 of 17 in Things to do in Piriapolis
Hike up Cerro del Toro, a minor hill that offers a wealth of hiking routes through a biologically rich area. At 253 m (830 ft) tall, the hill offers a good walking option close to town--do wear decent hiking boots, as the path gets pretty rocky and steep in places. Half way up the hill, you'll find a life-size statue of a bull, made in bronze and with a natural water source emerging from its mouth. Enjoy the vista from the bull's semi-circle vantage point, or head up to the hill's summit. Make Cerro del Toro a centerpiece of your Piriapolis vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Piriapolis trip planner.

  • While it costs a little upload it, the view of the city once you arrive is wonderful. You have to go with shoes and comfortable clothing. Bring water to hydrate and it is advisable to do so in the early hours. Before uploading the source of the Bull is with spring water.

  • Nice to walk the 33 steps and drink the fresh water emerging from the mouth of the bull, a bronze sculpture made in France.  more »
  • You can reach the Hill by car or walking, and you found with the stair that leads you to the bull, obviously photo forced upon him. Back there is a steep staircase, rather neglected, at times there are railings and other not, dangerous resulting. And when you get up, you have to start where you can, since there is no road signs to reach the top of the Hill climb... We did not get everything up, but during the ascent you can see another view of Piriapolis...

  • If you go up... You feel like the end of the earth before the space 😍
  • Easy to get to the top. An hour roundtrip. The road is fairly rustic but not impossible. Bring water because or at the base is achieved.

  • Nice place for sightseeing adventure. No matter the time of year as it doesn't rain. Nature unspoilt, very representative area of the Eastern sierras.

  • The place is very beautiful and full of peace, there is a fresh smell eucalyptus in the air, magnificent! From the mouth of the bull comes out a route of mineral water. Not uploaded to the top was no time and the road looked dangerous. There are stairs to climb to the del toro.

  • The Hill of the Bull is an invention. The ascent is not for everyone. People falls hurt. It is steep and very dangerous to lower. Obviously there is a caregiver that indicate this situation. The bull does not get even a drop of water. A verse
