  • Costs a little reach, from R3 to the North is opens a road deteriorated with many hillocks and curves. 15 minutes later you get to the "plateau of Artigas". Beautiful landscape in it high, where focused a monolith giant to the eminent Uruguayan. A few metres down I recommend you take a dip in the Spa Las Toscas, at the foot of a small copper plateau.

  • It is located in the Department of Paysandú Uruguay. It is a rugged promontory outgoing truncated pyramid of 45 meters. height, place where all movement in the Uruguay River and its two banks is observed. Here in this area the General José Gervasio Artigas settled purification camp headquarters of the Government of the federal League. As training geogratica is a place beautiful, and here a 25 in August of 1899 was innagura a bust to the General Artigas. When it saw for first time being a child I leave impressed by its size and its location. The bust measures 5.6 meters, 5.5 shoulder to shoulder and weighs 3.686 pounds, but at the same time is at a height of 80 meters. on the level of the river which has a pyramidal stone of 15 by 15 base is its base shrinking to its vertex from which rises a cylindrical column on which stands the bust. All surrounded by a well-kept Park and buildings for services that do not clash the place.
