We went Sunday to spend the day. We carry a few sandwiches (less bad because there is no canteen in place, at least in winter). There is camping, bathrooms and tables area. Beautiful park, very big and clean. Where is the monument to Artigas there is an excellent view of the River Uruguay, but there is no shade! By bottom can access the river. You can also visit a small museum about the life of Artigas. Access to the place was us easy and in good condition. Ride recommended for the whole family.

I'll only comment on the road from Route 3 since arriving at the bridge of access to the plateau was flooded not giving step and we had to return unknown place so emblematic of the Department and to the entire Uruguay. This path is not in very good condition but not intrancitable despite the fact that those days were lots of rain. I think that to be a historical place authorities should equip it and lift height it of that little bridge according to the have to be always accessible

A very high natural site with a surrounding park is very nice and care. He is observed the URUGUAY River and its islands with large dimension. There is place for camping and fishing Jetty. It is a historical place is there a monument to the national hero ARTIGAS at the Summit very nearby had their camp where drafted instructions for the thirteen year 1813 on the distribution of land and land for which works it that even not is it has crystallized. PURIFICATION is the area of the settlement that have not been expropriated to be visited. Also there spread the ashes of the founder and leader of the front large political group that championed these ideas for those who like nature park is quiet and spacious with many birds and native trees. VISIT North of URUGUAY missed place to go with time. Held two festivals one week of tourism Saturday 8 h output race with an impressive visual of that height of all the boats 50 or more. And in September, close to 23 visit GAUCHO celebration and tribute to the hero with more than 2 thousand horses with flags and costumes and sold traditional Roast with leather. Beef roast with the fur of the animal which is then removed and gives a different flavor that is very special and folk groups in each camp is selling crafts and evening dancing with Frank rural accent

Where to stay in Paysandu

Paysandu's accommodations lie on or just off the main strip, called Republica Argentina at its eastern end and Calle 18 de Julio at its western end as it approaches the river. Choices include simple mid-range hotels offering standard rooms, and more luxurious fare boasting additional facilities such as indoor pools, bars, and onsite restaurants. Looking farther afield, campgrounds provide a good budget option, while neighboring towns, well-linked up by regional highways, offer simple guesthouses just a short drive from the river and its beaches.
