Where to stay in Montevideo

Montevideo's central neighborhoods offer plenty of hostels for budget-minded travelers, as well as a good selection of mid-range hotels for visitors looking for a bit more space and privacy. Luxury rooms are harder to come by, especially if you arrive without a reservation. If you want to indulge your every desire, your best bet is the waterfront area, where you can find four- and five-star hotels offering all the modern amenities you need, including complimentary bicycles and car rental services.

  • Nice square where kids hang out to play. Quiet
  • Simple but nice, good for a rest when you're walking around town and get tired.
  • Square with good leather goods shop.
  • Un parque precioso cerca de la peatonal principal de la ciudad vieja. Un gran lugar para descansar en un día de recorridos turísticos. A beautiful park near the main pedestrian mall in the old city. A great place to stop, rest, and people watch while making the rounds down town.
  • Amazing place full of birds, are there a big tree full of parrots chanting really nice, very clean, but only an objection I have before many public places in Montevideo like Plazas and parks, is why people smoking and why people bring their dogs to pass excrement on grass and urine everywhere? In my opinion it have to be reviewed for authorities, even if people take off dog excrement on bags.
