Plaza de la Armada, Montevideo
(4.3/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
Enjoy views of the South Atlantic Ocean and the nearby city as you stroll through Plaza de la Armada. Plenty of grass, trees, flowerbeds, and walking areas make up the square, which closely resembles a park. Find a bronze sculpture by Spanish artist Eduardo Diaz Yepes, located at the top of a hill and depicting the hands of a man clinging to a shapeless mass, representing the bitter moment of death. Head downhill toward the water to stroll along the promenade, or sit down at the local eatery and grab a bite while you take in a waterfront view. • It is one of the prettiest points of Montevideo with a panoramic view of 180 degrees on the Río de la Plata. There is the coast and their rambla preferably westward. It should be better maintained and serviced acordes(buenas veredas, sanitarios, miradores acordes).

  • The Plaza de la Armada or Virgil square is a very nice site and from this point you have a view of the coast of Montevideo towards the West or West... the view is lost and sometimes weather conditions allow to see for example towards the East to Punta Ballena! It tends to be well looked after and is a place of leisure activities to enjoy in tranquility. Always is an enjoy going and stay is a good time.

  • It should no better view than this of the city and the rambla, from Punta Gorda, a little before arriving at Carrasco. Sunrises and sunsets dreamed up, showing a Bay endless entity Malvin and Pocitos and more behind the tip. Whether from the rail, from the picturesque square of the Navy or any resto-bar, which exist as Hemingway and makes some many years ago the old Hotel-Casino Oceania, today converted into apartments, is the view that more it has caught me in that city. When come from the Center by the rambla, tip fat looks, unique, penetrating in the River: another image to save in our memories. Inevitable!
