Take a stroll through a fun and informative cultural institution at Museo del Carnaval, dedicated to detailing the history and traditions of carnival in Uruguay. Completed in 2006, the museum takes you down a lifelike cobblestone street and through a range of enjoyable and interactive exhibits, showing the costumes, music, and colors that take over the country's towns between late January and mid-February each year. See masks, instruments, and vehicles that have become symbols of the carnival, and pick up some gift ideas at the onsite shop. • Next door to the popular eating spot of Mercado del Puerto so worthwhile to "pop" in Admission is inexpensive, costumes are colourful & creative & being small it is quite a fun activity  more »
  • Next to the mercado del puerto with time left is worth a visit because it has an interesting collection about the Uruguayan Carnival

  • There is an exhibition of costumes, very interesting. Lighting the place - in addition - gives it a certain air of magic. I didn't have the opportunity to watch any show of Carnival, but even if you have no tablado the museum itself is worth.

  • If you have nothing else to do then by all means visit here. I personally didn't care for it though the staff was very friendly. It's just two rooms and very small.
  • 100 Uruguay pesos to get in. Down interesting costumes with lots of information. Some is in English.
  • Nice place.
  • Have spirit
  • Right... If left over time to meet! But it seems those imitations of Carnival, kind of personality
