  • Open a few days but the visit is driven by college students that give technical explanations and fundamental character.

  • The House of the architect Vilamajó is worth a visit, especially if it is guided by an architecture student (Karen), which transmits her enthusiasm and competition by calling our attention to distribution of spaces (exterior/interior, main service area), axis of the building, floor, original furniture, possible links with Freemasonry and Alchemy, as well as details of construction that may have gone unnoticed and thanks to the guide we have been able to appreciate and enjoy. It is, of course, a beautiful and interesting example of housing designed and inhabited by its own author, of a modernity that impresses. According to the booklet which gave us there yesterday, the opening hours is as follows: Wednesday and Saturday from 10.00 to 16.00 h., with guided tours for groups from 3 o'clock people point (10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 h.).

  • If you like Frank Llyod Wright or Le Corbusier, then this is the place for you to visit. This is the house that Vilamajo built for himself.  more »

  • Inflatable visit for fans of architecture and for the not so much. A very interesting life told through a walk by his house and his work. Excellent guides, very good work from the Faculty of architecture. It was flawless

  • The same House, modern singular work, declared a national historic landmark in 1990, is the protagonist and the ideal setting to host a permanent exhibition on the work of Vilamajó, and to periodically receive temporary exhibitions related not only to the architecture and design, but also to other related areas. There are currently guided tours, book presentations, events associated with the neighborhood cultural circuits that include, in addition to the Faculty of architecture, design and urban planning (FADU), the Faculty of engineering, the National Museum of Visual Arts, the exhibition space open-pit of Parque Rodó, and events in collaboration with other museums and cultural institutions in our country and abroad.
