Museo Andes 1972, Montevideo
(4.2/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Museo Andes 1972 honors the lives of both survivors and victims of a plane crash that involved a group of high school rugby players, their friends, and relatives. The story that inspired many books revolves around 16 Uruguayans who endured 72 days in the cold mountains, with no food or proper clothing. See personal belongings, airplane debris, documents, and photographs from the "Valley of Tears." The 19th-century museum building with balconies made of Carrara marble is a worthwhile architectural attraction in and of itself. • It is a very interesting visit because it tells in a very detailed way the incredible journey you have had to go through these young people. The exhibition is dedicated to FAU 571 45 passengers.

  • The tragedy / the miracle of the Andes is a captivating and inspiring story of itself, and this Museum brings all that and more. It shows a great dedication and knowledge of the subject in all those who work. I really loved. The initial video is in several languages, so it's perfect for tourists. I emphasize the large number of objects, the collection of which said the press of the accident and explanatory panels. Finally, it is a museum that is always looking for new things, since they recently opened a place dedicated to the Chilean arriero. Highly recommended.

  • Interesting but lacks a bit more. It could have been a deeper experience if the collection was a bit bigger, just one big room and a little upstairs. The ticket costs 200 pesos, but it is possible to negotiate... I bargained two tickets for 300. It worths the visit but definitely is not a "must go".
  • very cute

  • Montevideo, Uruguay. Monday, May 9, 2016, by visiting the "Museum Andes 1972" in the hands of its Director the Lord Jörg P. A. Thomsen. We were amazed and impressed by the care, dedication and interest of its director, as well as broad knowledge and excellent explanation of the accident. Worth come and go with such meticulous, brilliant and well-prepared Guide. We were five crew members of the Airbus A330 of Air Europa fleet. A different point of view to learn to value the important and unimportant things in life and a very good review sobré CRM, leadership, human factors, teamwork and decision-making. Miss Henriette and the Miss Natalia, spectacular in its indications being great knowledgeable and guides of the Museum. Good wishes for the Lady Manager Andrea which we wish the best of luck in the world. Highly recommended and very good lesson. It was my fourth visit and I note that always improve exposure by adding new things. Don't forget to visit it because it will be a magnificent and highly edifying hours.
