La escollera, Montevideo

(1.9/5 based on 70+ reviews on the web)
Fishing enthusiasts will love La escollera, a favorite area of the port where locals cluster for a catch. Alternatively, watch the ships coming in and out of the harbor, or just take a long walk down this peaceful shore with its panoramic sea views. The neighborhood close to the harbor holds significant historical and colonial interest, with a checkered past in African slavery. Put La escollera and other Montevideo attractions into our Montevideo trip generator, and watch your holiday take shape.
