Where to stay in Montevideo

Montevideo's central neighborhoods offer plenty of hostels for budget-minded travelers, as well as a good selection of mid-range hotels for visitors looking for a bit more space and privacy. Luxury rooms are harder to come by, especially if you arrive without a reservation. If you want to indulge your every desire, your best bet is the waterfront area, where you can find four- and five-star hotels offering all the modern amenities you need, including complimentary bicycles and car rental services.

  • Beautiful but really tiny. On the day of my visit there was a photo shoot happening so be aware that you could wait a bit to get in. The museum next to it is great.
  • Notable
  • Relaxing
  • A run rude (who was smoking at the time) tell you read a plaque with the rules and you enter. Is a very simple and small garden. Added that the distance from the Centre of Montevideo and not worth the ride.
