Where to stay in Montevideo

Montevideo's central neighborhoods offer plenty of hostels for budget-minded travelers, as well as a good selection of mid-range hotels for visitors looking for a bit more space and privacy. Luxury rooms are harder to come by, especially if you arrive without a reservation. If you want to indulge your every desire, your best bet is the waterfront area, where you can find four- and five-star hotels offering all the modern amenities you need, including complimentary bicycles and car rental services.

  • Amazing museum, very complete in many aspects, 100 % advisable to visit.
  • It is a nice Museum. Small. Very easy to navigate. It is interesting for those who want an approach to the Uruguayan art. I thought it was better than the Torres García, is a few blocks east.
