  • It is a common and fair is only worth the visit considering the diversity of items not common here in Brazil. I found full but nothing to stop seeing everything smoothly. It costs nothing to the ride, unless you want to buy something.

  • If you are looking for something like the fair of San Telmo in BA, don't waste your time. Looks more like a big fair.

  • For all those lovers of the fairs and flea markets: there are from plants, antiques, fruits, spices, books. Located in the area of the cord (18 July and Tristán Narvaja). For lovers of books, about Tristán Narvaja (and in front of the Faculty of psychology of the University of the Republic) rare and out of print copies can be found. I recommend bringing cash for purchases. It can be a stop to eat in two bars in the corner: the new Tinderbox (Av. Uruguay 1799) or La Tortuguita, Tristán Narvaja 1597). For a snack, bar Matuca (Fernández Crespo 1957)

  • Nice place to visit as a tourist. Be there around 10am and be very careful cause there are lots of "pick pockets" specially if u are a women.
  • A typical fair of Montevideo. One of the most ancient. Nowadays has been magnified. You can find oldest things and newest ones. Prices varies from shop to shop.
  • It has an incredible variety of things to sell! You literally can find everything here. Though... it gets very full of people
  • A fair with everything you can imagine. But it is too crowded
  • Excellent Touristic Feria, just careful your belongings, because is crowd of people

Where to stay in Montevideo

Montevideo's central neighborhoods offer plenty of hostels for budget-minded travelers, as well as a good selection of mid-range hotels for visitors looking for a bit more space and privacy. Luxury rooms are harder to come by, especially if you arrive without a reservation. If you want to indulge your every desire, your best bet is the waterfront area, where you can find four- and five-star hotels offering all the modern amenities you need, including complimentary bicycles and car rental services.
