Where to stay in Punta del Este

A major vacation destination, Punta del Este boasts a wide range of accommodation options, though most establishments remain relatively expensive even during the off-season. Summer marks the peak of tourism (December to March), and during that time even mid-range hotels charge top rates. Visitors with deeper pockets can choose from a number of three- and four-star hotels within walking distance of good beaches. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider one of the hostels scattered throughout Punta del Este's residential neighborhoods.

  • Very nice crossing the river with an old boat and a float. They are building a bridge now, this are the last month to take the trip :)  more »
  • You can go there to continue with your car on the road, go to the Hotel after crossing, or just to experience a simple , very simple but most efficient way of crossing a road with an unfinished bridge...  more »
  • For many years in this age usually do a break and we spent a few days in Punta del Este enjoying that there still aren't many people. As there is always a walk towards José Ignacio, is very pleasant to get to there and obviously go to the raft, which is not more... because that was replaced by the Circular bridge which was opened recently. But memories of the crossing on the raft turns a picturesque reminder.
