Where to stay in Punta del Este

A major vacation destination, Punta del Este boasts a wide range of accommodation options, though most establishments remain relatively expensive even during the off-season. Summer marks the peak of tourism (December to March), and during that time even mid-range hotels charge top rates. Visitors with deeper pockets can choose from a number of three- and four-star hotels within walking distance of good beaches. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider one of the hostels scattered throughout Punta del Este's residential neighborhoods.

  • Cerro Catedral is naturally the highest hill of Uruguay, reach him gives us the importance of reaching the highest point, but if you being spectacular here unfortunately you don't have them. In fact when you get to the point really not know well what is the Hill until you find a sign that implies that the chain of mountains and hills that are found in the place take you to within a landscape surrounded by several high points and is not as defined as the Sugar Loaf Hill. Therefore once in place will only see some animals, probably an intense fog and many windmills accompanied by a noise that I thought would not be as sound as it is, for my taste these at some point modify, alter and disturb wildlife and safe the flora of the area. But good if you like to indulge in the point highest in the country come to visit him, many narrow roads and a not very attractive view await you but you can say that you were there.

  • The road from tip of the this is really very cute, although something careless, the views of the field are unmatched

  • For many years in this age usually do a break and we spent a few days in Punta del Este enjoying that there still aren't many people. This is the place most high of the Uruguay, today reaches almost to the top since the wind farm has a system of roads to interconnect wind turbines. The view is not natural, is dominated by the wind mills, but anyway is still a very nice place.
