Ex Frigorífico Anglo, Fray Bentos
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Step back in time to the World Heritage-listed Fray Bentos factory, which now houses Ex Frigorífico Anglo. The factory first opened in 1873 and produced canned corned beef for the new brand. Revolutionary in its production of meat sourcing, processing, packing, and dispatching, the factory put the sleepy town on the map for its role as the "world's kitchen," providing food to soldiers during World War I. A guided tour will lead you through the entire production process of the preserved factory.
