4.1/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web
Stroll around or take a guided tour of Plaza Mayor, a vibrant plaza with an extensive (and bloody) past. Used in its early days as a military planning hub, during World War I the square was a site of public executions of prisoners. Having seen a number of wars and changing hands between the Spanish and Portuguese, this central plaza has been impeccably maintained and today makes a picturesque, pleasant place to spend time. • The square is full of attractions around. Very well kept and clean, it's too hot to walk around and there's always a way.

  • It is amazing the mix of colours, landscapes and others that are mixed in this place. There are left and abandoned cars that frame the streets, cars of era, that far from being ugly, give a distinctive touch. the walk is quiet, especially in the evenings, take shelter, being a coastal place is usually quite cold and wind. There are places to eat and museums close to here. recommended

  • Beautiful square, mixture of all cultures and languages, sale of crafts, their different foliage. You can relax on the grass, even in banks, decorate it rosales, Palm trees, orange trees and flowers everywhere with beautiful native birds... well neat and clean.
