Categories: Architectural Buildings, Tourist Spots
Meander through the grounds of a presidential residence at Parque Anchorena. Designed by German landscape gardener and architect Hermann Botrich, the 1,369 hectare (3,383 acre) gardens display more than 200 tree and shrub species, including a pleasant variety of evergreen trees, first planted on the plot in 1908. Once the stomping ground of Argentine aristocrat and landowner Don Aaron de Anchorena, the park was donated to the Uruguayan state, and opened to the public in 1990. You can take a tour through the main house, which now serves as a presidential retreat. The road linking Cologne to the Park was awful. If you're interested in making the visit, ask before if it was cleaned up the asphalt, otherwise, don't take any chances, especially with small vehicles. Anyway we lost the "trip" and we were pretty upset with the situation.show original

There is the estancia de Anchorena (current place of rest and meetings of the President of the Republic). The Park is an important extension, in which lives the flora fauna in a fantastic way. There is a wide range of trees of various species. You can also see deer axis traverse the Park freely. Travel is done with a guide, and unlike before, now takes place in a bus Park. You can see on the tour, the estancia de Anchorena (does not allow approaching within 200 meters of the same), a tower of more than 70 meters of height, and spring (which is currently under repair, since the last storm collapsed it along with everything you had on that coast, which is seen from afar). To finish the race, you should book via phone from previews, since quotas are limited to the number of seats of the bus. The Park is open from Thursday to Sunday. The only thing that can be considered negative is the roads of access to the Park, since it is quite impaired. Anyway, is a ride that should make any visitor who is near Colonia del Sacramento. Highly recommended.show original
