Museo Portugues, Colonia del Sacramento

(4/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
Travel back to the colonial era at Museo Portugues, a small cultural heritage museum set in a charming 17th-century home. Central to the museum is the Portuguese colonial experience, exhibited through a range of artifacts that once belonged to original settlers. Particularly interesting is the collection of colonial-era maps, made at a time when European empire building and exploration sparked the golden age of cartography. Displays and dioramas help bring this period back to life, while information panels can provide additional insight into the area's history. • I confess to a feeling of bitterness came in the heart while visiting this Museum, because the Portuguese drew many riches of Brazil (rosewood furniture of brazilian origin) also exploit the Uruguay. but the ride is worth for the story itself, feelings aside.

  • It is called so because as both this and the Spanish period, contain, military uniforms, slab, crockery, weapons, items commemorating Camões and other things related to the Portuguese culture as the coat of arms original of Colonia do Sacramento, which stood atop the gate of camp in the 18th century, led by the Virrey Cevallos to Buenos Ayres capital of the Virreynato Spanish as a war trophy and then restored. Others are saying that architecture is representative of Cologne since it contains a mixture of Portuguese, Spanish and others. The House original of Texas and stones is Portuguese of approximately 1722 and it part white of bricks and ceiling of roof is Spanish of 1792, made by a captain Spanish on the ruin of the House made by the Portuguese.
