Explore indigenous archaeology, history, and development at Museo Municipal Dr. Bautista Rebuffo, Colonia's first ever museum. Built in a Portuguese neoclassical architectural style, the museum was modeled on the colonial structures of the 19th century. Look out for primitive rustic furniture, weaponry, and work tools from the pre-colonisation era. • This museum is the initial for a series of visits. The ticket costs 50 pesos which is more or less 5 reais per person. Well worth meeting as it was an old House and has some typical things of the season.

  • Portuguese building of the XVIII e with musical instruments - presentation of the Cumparcita comb pageantry, tables with pinned butterflies - the only furniture present a particular interest

  • In this museum is sold a pass which entitles you to visit almost all the museums of Cologne. The problem is to do it in 1 day! This museum houses and ancient weaponry in the region o vigor da Economia Brasileira, stuffed animals and some fossils. Warning: do not open on Tuesdays!

  • 科洛尼亞老城的博物館,這裏可以買多個博物館的通票,裏面有不少科洛尼亞的歷史和地圖展示。
  • All those museums in Colonia del Sacramento are quite small but it doesn't mean there are not fun. Enjoy your trip!
  • There are around 5 museums, all very small. Ask for the ticket book to get a discount on entry.
  • Very cute place! We were told in the walking tour, which is the only place that only accepts Uruguayan pesos. Within walking distance there is a currency exchange where you can buy the currency and buy the ticket as well. It was a beautiful experience! I recommend it

Where to stay in Colonia del Sacramento

In contrast to its quaint historical architecture, Colonia del Sacramento offers a range of multi-story, luxury accommodations. Most of these sit near the tip of the city's peninsula, with swimming pools and good beach access. If you want to stay in the old town itself, choose between a range of hostels, inns, and boutique hotels housed in buildings more in keeping with the city's colonial architecture. Make sure to reserve your accommodations in advance, especially if visiting on a weekend or during the busy summer season.
