Convento de San Francisco, Colonia del Sacramento

(3.6/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
The remains of a colonial-era convent, Convento de San Francisco features stone walls dating back to the 17th century. Originally dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, Spanish missionary and co-founder of the Society of Jesus, the convent was destroyed by fire in the 18th century. Wander the grounds to get a feel for what the building looked like before its destruction, or ascend the steps of a 19th-century, 34 m (111 ft) lighthouse for a panoramic view of Colonia. • To start the photo corresponds to the Basilica. The convent of San Francisco is a ruin. The more ancient of the country. which is below and to the north side of the lighthouse in Cologne. Sometimes called San Francisco Xavier, but in reality is Franciscan because there was the chapel of the convent and fifths of the the brothers Capuchins of the third order of St. Francis of Assisi. The confusion comes of yesteryear because to 200 meters had a college Jesuit at the time Portuguese.

  • Minimum on all those aspects. The place is based only on two small rooms... and with normal mosaic... nothing more than the pre-visto in Cologne.
