Ruin Tourist Spot
The remains of a colonial-era convent, Convento de San Francisco features stone walls dating back to the 17th century. Originally dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, Spanish missionary and co-founder of the Society of Jesus, the convent was destroyed by fire in the 18th century. Wander the grounds to get a feel for what the building looked like before its destruction, or ascend the steps of a 19th-century, 34 m (111 ft) lighthouse for a panoramic view of Colonia. • This place is part of the obligatory tour that you will do for this beautiful city when you visit it. Part of the old town you moved to an old age where it shows that it has been made an effort to keep all in an excellent condition.

  • The Church is located in the historical city centre and is part of the whole. Not to go and not go to thank you for the opportunity to get to know a place as Colonia. Both within and abroad it is possible to take beautiful pictures of souvenir.

Where to stay in Colonia del Sacramento

In contrast to its quaint historical architecture, Colonia del Sacramento offers a range of multi-story, luxury accommodations. Most of these sit near the tip of the city's peninsula, with swimming pools and good beach access. If you want to stay in the old town itself, choose between a range of hostels, inns, and boutique hotels housed in buildings more in keeping with the city's colonial architecture. Make sure to reserve your accommodations in advance, especially if visiting on a weekend or during the busy summer season.
