Convento de San Francisco, Colonia del Sacramento
(3.6/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
The remains of a colonial-era convent, Convento de San Francisco features stone walls dating back to the 17th century. Originally dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, Spanish missionary and co-founder of the Society of Jesus, the convent was destroyed by fire in the 18th century. Wander the grounds to get a feel for what the building looked like before its destruction, or ascend the steps of a 19th-century, 34 m (111 ft) lighthouse for a panoramic view of Colonia. • The Chapel is extremely cute, can be visited from early in the morning and is nestled in the Centre of the old town. close to the best places to have lunch or dinner

  • Church of the first black Saint. To add to this small little church culture makes your ride even more cool. On the day I went was wide open and with no one watching, only by internal cameras. Inside there are some pieces of the time such as brooches, and Church articles exposed for all to see, even showing the architecture of the building. On the wall of the Church left a piece without reform and in that piece made a transparent framework for all to see the natural construction of the site.
