  • We went on vacation with my partner the second week of February. Knew of the BIT, not only of their services but of the project architecture. In full summer season, with colony full of tourists and the Center was "closed for refurbishment" it seems to Me that managers (Administration, Ministry of tourism) should provide moments of closure of the Centre, since it is income not only to the Department but to the country

  • Excellent information, sell very well the attractions of Uruguay. Brochures of all kinds. There is a screening room, which can be accessed by paying an entry, to see a documentary.

  • It is a tourist information centre which is at the exit of the port. Is built with funds of the IDB and the quartermaster supposedly as space cultural and of diffusion of the culture local + Centre of information tourist. Structure is precious and the employees are very friendly, but the place really does not meet your feature beyond the picturesque. For starters, it seems one of those hospitals which opens in campaign, very cute on the outside, but empty on the inside. Could pass there a million of things, but only is dan brochures in a schedule of opening really limited considering that the port receives ships from them 8 until them 21.30 and the BIT opens to them 10 and close many times before them 18 hs. In addition, the 80% of the surface is wasted because not passes nothing. The same always, month to month. And offer the tourist a movie that promise is very interesting, but in a misleading manner because newly when the tourist is interested and enters the screening room, they communicate with him that is not free and must pay it. Careful with this. And this part of the criticism goes to the BIT and above all, for the local tourism body. Has last more than once the port is closed by conditions weather, by which thousands of people are stranded in Cologne by a situation that them takes by surprise. Yesterday February 5, 2017, for example, did this happen. In the middle of the wind, the cold rain and unexpected, people (including babies and older people) had to spend the night on the floor of the terminal, where is the body of tourism in those cases? This has happened to me or similar things in other cities around the world and the tourist offices, using common sense and taking into account its governmental role, open their doors after hours for shelter to tourists or search for accommodation by telephone favouring the flow between services of accommodation (hotels, hostels, vacation rentals of rooms) and people. In Cologne, when it happens, which is as normal, the hotel capacity fills quickly and people are left to the good of God without even understanding the language, while observing both the interior of the port office as the BIT closed until 10 am. Honestly, I think that they should rethink their role and think of people working to grow tourism in the city.
