Canyon Overlook Trail, Zion National Park
(4.9/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Hike Canyon Overlook Trail with the knowledge that you don't have to be extremely fit to admire some of the greatest views of Zion National Park. One of the park's most scenic trails, the moderate incline and roundtrip length of just 1.6 km (1 mi) make it accessible for visitors of all ages and skill levels. Even during this short hike, you'll be able to experience a variety of landscapes and natural features, and perhaps discover some of the park's abundant wildlife. The trail end commands impressive views of some of the park's most famous features. Apart from one shady alcove, most of the trail sits in direct sunlight, so make sure to apply adequate sun protection. Avoid hiking the trail in wet weather, because it can become dangerous when slippery. • Beautiful, fun hike to incredible vistas of the valley. hike along deep Pine Creek canyon, 1 mile round trip, great for a lunch stop or extra hike to see different perspective of the valley.
  • We really enjoyed this hike, lots of twists and turns and scenic views. The trail is quite narrow in some places, and you walk quite close to the drop-off, but we felt it was safe enough.
  • The end of the trail rewards you with great views of Zion Canyon. Parking was limited, but we were able to park after just a few minutes (in November). There are some steep parts, and some narrow part...  more »
