Trip Planner:   USA  /  Utah  /  Zion National Park  /  Angel's Landing

Angel's Landing, Zion National Park

If you're willing to challenge yourself to walk up narrow paths and climb steep ridges at Zion National Park, you can reach Angel's Landing and be rewarded with a majestic view. The trail is considered extremely demanding--especially the final stage. The early part of the hike features plenty of pleasant photo opportunities. As the trail begins to get steeper, any crowds will thin out because most people turn back. Reaching the summit can be dangerous--especially so when wet or icy. It requires scaling some serious heights and using chains anchored in the rocks, so it's not for everyone. This final part of the climb is not intended for children. • We’ve done this hike several times before, never going to Angels Landing as neither of us like heights nad have nothing prove by scaring ourselves. To avoid parking problems on our early January visit...  more »
  • Fantastic hike! Maybe the best of my life and I’ve done a few. The Narrows is equally as good, and both in Zion!!! Angel’s landing is much more difficult but just a blast. Train hard and you can do it...  more »
  • It is here that we have identified 2 California condors that nest in the rock probably. There was a visible to binoculars cavity when we saw a condor enter. Finally he would find one already in the cavity. We have them observe the telescope it was beautiful.

  • Great hiking experience. I didn't make to the top of the chain I was a bit afraid, but I'm happy that I reached this place. The view from the top is breathtaking. Come from early morning to avoid the crowd.
  • Definitely recommend this hike if you are looking for an adventurous hike with the best views ever! It is a dangerous and strenuous hiking trail so I would look into it before you go to see if you want to hike it. I would recommend getting there as early as you can in the morning to catch the shuttle to the hike so that it is cool weather and a minimal amount of people in the morning. By the time afternoon comes there are already tons of people just waiting to go on the hikes and it can feel crowded at times but still one of the most amazing experiences ever that I would recommend!
  • Breath taking view once you get up there! If you're height averse, you can still hike up most of the way up. Unfortunately, you won't get nearly the view as you do when you actually get to Angels Landing. The hike on the spine is scary but not unbearably so, just keep walking.
  • Somewhat strenuous hike. Very steep to get to the top. Expect a lot of people... Especially when you get to the chains. Only one way up/down. Spectacular views!!
  • It's a great hike. One I have repeated many times. As long as you're ok with heights there's no reason to miss this trek. I wouldn't advise it but I've taken my children, one at a time ,with me to the very top. The youngest was my daughter she was 5 at the time.
