The first thing you need to know about this place is - HORSE FLIES of terror. Like, literally swarming around your head. Don't go hiking there in the warmer months if 20+ flies swarming your head will... more »

This is not a place you'd probably want to fly in from another country to visit (unless you're surprisingly into birds or midwestern animal habitats), but for anyone in the area, it offers spectacular... more »

This is a beautiful scenic drive where you can find abundant wildflowers, prairie grasses, birds, and other wildlife. There are many trails for hiking and many pools of water. There are nice information boards alond the way, telling about the landscape and wildlife. I also enjoy the platforms with viewing scopes. Only downside is there is only one public restroom which is primitive. Overall, I love it there!

Sherburne NWR is a great place to drive through to see all kinds of local wildlife. It's also a wonderful destination for birders, going through a wide variety of habitats, from prairies to wetlands.

This refuge is a very well setup drive through attraction. You can take a nice leisurely drive and see some beautiful wildlife and scenery for central MN. There are many spots set up with binoculars for viewing bald eagles nest. Don't move them before you look through them. Quite often they were left pointing right at a far off nest that you may not see with the naked eye.

This place gas been ruined. I went there frequently as a child and loved it. Now it's fenced off for cattle and void of natural life.
