I was driving on I-70 after working in West Virginia. I approached State St. in Zanesville and opted to stop for a sandwich and peanuts to take with me (the best peanut place in Ohio!!!!!) Just as I e... more »
I have been eating at Tom's Ice Cream Bowl for more than 50 years. It is part of Zanesville's history. My father went there when he was in high school. It's not been updated that I recall. Jukebox and... more »
We expected to see Andy, Opie, and Aunt Bea. Loved how they kept up with the old fashion look, even the counter. We only ate ice cream but Ohhhhh was it good! The Tevis family! more »
Best ice cream parlor I have ever been in. Home made ice cream and several (more then 10) natural flavors. Old time made from scratch burgers. Yuumyist food I have eaten in my 66 yrs. The also have dozens on home made fudge and nuts in a heated case like Sears used to sell in my youth. I had a 1/2 pound of Cashews. Can't wait to go back!!
Toms used to be a great place with great service. My husband and i go every Tuesday, but the last 2 years the service has not been so great. Waitresses rarely offer coffee refills, i always have to ask. Tonight i got one cup of very old coffee, was not offered a refill, told the cash register guy, he said, oh sorry about that and still charged me $1.75. Very disappointing.
This place is legendary. They send classic diner fare, but their big claim to frame is the delicious array of house-made ice cream. The servings are generous and it's just SO good. Their fresh roasted nuts and big selection of chocolate candies are great, too. The employees are friendly and clean-cut, sporting 50's style white shirts and bowties. We just love Tom's. It's worth our drive every time!
Always listed as one of the top places in Ohio for ice cream. Their home-made ice cream is delicious and so are the food items we bought. If you want fancy, there are other places. If you want old-school and tasty, this is your place!
I liked my ice cream, but some of us could taste flavors they did not have in their bowl and didn't enjoy it much... we drove all the way down there because everyone told us how good it is but there's better ice cream in Ohio.
