  • This was my first time doing anything ike this, and I loved every minute of it. Despite a hick at check in, where we had made a reservation but the check in girl said we hadn't, the day ran smoothly. ...  read more »
  • This is the best way to spend an August day in Florida! I'm a local and absolutely love this place. From the moment you start, the natural beauty of Florida is apparent and the landscape changes as yo...  read more »
  • OK, folks - This is NOT a guided tour, nor is it a controlled environment. This is a place to rent a canoe or kayak, along with life jackets and paddles, from some very nice folks who will pick you up...  read more »
  • Customer service is not the best. They give you little directions. We had to drag the kayaks and get in without any help. Most places I have rented kayaks from help you get everything in and help you launch off. Other places also give you some directions about they type of kayak you are using. This place does none of that. The springs are beautiful but you can access them publicly and save 40 bucks. The springs are all in the first mile and after that you have a murky long ride with no where to rest. Once we hit the second bridge which is where they pick you up, you will be relieved then let down when you have to wait 30 minutes. The paddles they provide are the cheap ones that are heavy and have no water blocker that some paddles have.
  • Wife and I did this on our honeymoon. We had a blast. The flyer and website explained everything. The customer service was great. It is a long trip be prepared. Bring a cooler fully stocked with beverages of your choice beer can come. Bring extra clothing to change into you will get wet. They provide changing rooms for you. It is cash only but they let you know on phone as well as the other two ways we found them. Peaceful and beautiful. Even had someone down at end to pull us out.Thank you guys
  • Ok so i have read quite a few of these reviews, myself & family has canoed & tubed this creek for almost 6 years now,no problems, no worrries and we even take our kid's swimming there. There is numerous springs&yes alot of logs however wear some water shoes & find your sense of adventure, tubing, canoeing &kayaking or the econfina is not for the un- adventrous among us.
  • I went kayaking down econfina creek this weekend. It is pretty on this river but I wasn't very happy with it for a couple of reasons still. I have been down many rivers in my life and this is one I will not be coming back to. There is so much trash in this river, chips bags, cans, clothing. The next issue I had was, the kayaks were awful, They were disgusting and covered in mud and thick black gunk. I has spiders in my kayak also. These are never washed down with a hose or anything. They were also too big, these were not normal kayaks like I have ever used, they were big and hard to control and steer. There was a broken piece of foam holding the front of the kayak also... Also, the amount of trees that have fallen in this river is insane. I am experienced at canoeing and kayaking but there were many unavoidable trees. Some parts of the river are completely blocked off except for a small passage. At one point, there was a traffic jam on a tree just under the water, two canoes and two kayaks all got stuck. I got stuck in a few other spots also because a lot of these trees are just under the surface where you cant see them until its too late. There is also hardly anywhere to stop and relax for a few, the springs were so packed, there is no where to stop for a break for a snack, or to apply sunblock. There are springs at the first part of the river but then you are on the river for hours with no where to stop. The only places I could find to stop at all for sunblock, to adjust myself or whatever, was in gunky old leaf piles and it felt gross to stand in. I believe when you want to go canoeing or kayaking, it should be enjoyable and relaxing and this just was not, It was non stop paddling and trying to get over and around trees. I just wanted to write this review so people will know, there are way better rivers out there, that are more clear and relaxing with some nice places to get off and have a break too. I know not all of this is the fault of the canoe livery but people should know before they come and spend so much money on this. It is not worth it at all.
  • I was not impressed at all and most likely will not be coming back. I think you need to invest in new life jackets they looked disgusting and moldy. Yuck!! Also I hated seeing all the garbage in the water! There was really no where to stop eat and relax. It would be nice to also know where we are, so signs or even mile markers are a great idea.
