  • This is a wonderful place and a must see if you are in Youngstown. We stayed at the 4 Mile RV Park. Is about 7 minutes away. Right on outskirts of Youngstown. History that was and is so well shown!! D...  more »
  • We traveled as a large group and were assigned a guide. Dedicated employees offer a snapshot into the earliest American history, dressing in the era within the actual Fort setting and telling a story ...  more »
  • It was an old fort with 6buildings. The structure was so beautiful to look at. As seen in movies they have the big doors and big stones around it to close the bridge when attacked. The river view was a...  more »

  • I have come at least 4 times and each time it has been cool. Building 17 was closed off this time I went. Building to the east of the fort has solar panels but they haven't thought about putting electric car chargers at the visitor information center. Hopefully next time I come they will. :)
  • Wonderful place to visit. History, great views, and a nice park to enjoy a picnic. When I was there last week the snack bar looked closed and rundown. Room for improvement there. On a clear day you can see across the lake but this evening there was no such luck. This is the place for history buffs for sure.
  • One of my favorite places to visit. For the best experience go when they have reenactments. Around 4 July they have big reenactments going with muskets, mortars and cannons firing. There is allot of history made in this fort. It has been built up over the period of long time by French, British, American forces when it was changing sides.
  • One of the things I liked here was the narration in each of the rooms. You do not need a guide to help you out. However, I might not know the significance of the places other than a brief history I heard from my guide, hence might not have been of interest to me.
  • Great Place to visit. Especially in Spring, Green Pastures and clear skies will be more scenic.
