The biggest grove of giant sequoias in Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Grove is home to two of the biggest sequoias in the world. The Grizzly Giant is thought to be 1,800 years old. Your best is to hike to the grove, which also features the California Tunnel Tree that you can walk through. You can park at the entrance to the grove, or take a one-hour tram tour that operates seasonally. Visit the National Park Service's website for updates on temporary closures that periodically occur. • After a 3 mile 1 way hike we came upon some of the most amazing trees you could imagine. It is hard to describe what one feels in the presence of such magnificence. The shuttle from the Mariposa...  more »

  • Shuttles not operating, long hike, may be better off driving down to Sequoia NP to see giant Sequoias. Love Yosemite but disappointed that the shuttles are still not operating.  more »

  • It was good but having been through the Giant Redwoods earlier in our trip I thought this overall walk was just 'ok'. Certainly not a dense grove of specimens. Saying that, I thought the second half of the Grizzly loop was better being comparatively quiet with several nice trees.
  • Wow. The trees are stunningly large. What a beautiful place! Definitely something that needs to be experienced in person.
  • Mariposa Grove is a newly re-opened part of Yosemite Park. Featuring groves of redwood trees. The new layout features extensive ADA compliant walkways and observation vistas. Plentiful signage helps EVERYONE to more appreciate the "not so obvious" mind-boggling sights of Mother Nature.
  • This place at southern entrance of Yosemite National Park. This place has shuttles from its office to trails. Very nice service & avoids rush at trails spot. Huge trees are in this area & trails are very nice & scenic. Huge trees with tunnel in its stem is worth seeing. You can also observe very large trees. Nice to visit. Trails are accessible by wheelchair
  • These trees are remarkable
