Battlefield Historic Site
The Revolutionary War comes to life at American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, a living-history museum located near the battlefield where American and French forces secured the new nation's independence in 1781. The center's signature display features an early draft of the Declaration of Independence, which was produced in Boston before members of Congress signed another copy of the document. Outside the center you can explore an army encampment, that's been created to provide visitors with insight into the private lives of soldiers who fought and died for the cause of independence. At another outdoor exhibit, a reconstructed 18th century farm, you'll hear the story of ordinary American farmers struggling to survive during this decisive period. • Great visit! The museum was majorly updated recently and the efforts make for a great interactive tours both inside and out! Artillery demonstration was a blast! Highly recommend a family visit here. Huzzah!
  • The galleries were very well organized and my family and I had a blast. There was enough interactive points to keep younger kids entertained. The staff was also super helpful and were all in a great mood.
  • Learn a little or learn alot. Each turn provides you with a new piece of the puzzle. You can enjoy just looking, read to learn more or stop in and watch mini documentaries along the way. Outside you will be able to experience life during the Revolutionary war with a military encampment and a village with very knowledgeable reenactors.
  • Great explanations and hands-on engaging moments for our kids. Fantastic museum and friendly staff. Getting to heft the musket and make a cartridge was really memorable.
  • I loved the whole experience. It was interesting listening to the stories and hearing the cannon firing. The inside exhibits were well done and the movie was awesome. My favorite part. This is our history and should not be forgotten.
