Met with Kady in the fair office regarding plans for a display in the Modern Living Building in September. She's a professional, helpful representative of the Yakima Fair.
Enjoyed the SunDome during the high school basketball state playoffs. Great facility for this event, parking was easy and the location easy to find.
We went to visit during the 4th of July festivities. There were rides for the kids and the usual mostly deep fried food stands. As often happens at these places, the quality of the food always comes w... read more »
We had to pay for parking and then tickets to get in... Why! They should make it one price!! People travel from everywhere and don't always have cash!
The fair is cool but over priced and the same thing each year
Went to the race last weekend. The race was fun to watch my complaints are with the concession stand. On the way in I was told I couldn't bring my water bottle in and that I would need to purchase water from concessions. The problem is I wont drink water from a plastic container. The concession stand had no food yet they advertise that they do. If you want beer and licorice your in the right place but anything else well they dont have it and you can't bring your own snack. If your not going to let me bring snacks atleast make them available to me.
While I had a blast at the Sir Mix-a-Lot concert on NYE, the experience could have been a lot better. I was disappointed to discover that they were only serving beer (I'm not a fan of cheap beer) unless you bought a (somewhat expensive) VIP ticket. I mean, no wine or champagne in Washington wine country on NYE?? C'mon! Secondly, we had to choose between a table and a better view and standing on our feet (for a 5 hour long show) or sitting in the bleachers. Would it have been such a hassle to place a few stools in the back? Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture, and I did have a fantastic time, but I'm thinking twice about coming back next year. Also, outdoor heaters while we were waiting in line to get in during subfreezing temps would have been a plus. Or, you know, you could have let us in the building and gated off inside the dome. Just putting that out there.
Went to the Columbia River Circuit Rodeo Finals here in November 2014. The building is primarily designed for basketball but it was set up for rodeo competition. Not a bad seat in the house which is great. The staff are also very friendly.
