  • This is really a great state park... Camping, fishing, boating, pool, picnic, hiking, mountain biking etc.. All sorts of things to do at this park. It does get a bit crowded on weekends in the summer,...  read more »
  • If it's a picnic, a hike, fishing or just relaxing in a beautiful natural setting, Francis Slocum State Park can be the place for you.
  • We always try to find a park with lovely scenery and pleasant walking trails when visiting an area. Frances Slocum State Park is a nice 20-minute drive from our hotel. We did not see the campground, a...  read more »
  • Around 2pm yesterday we went with a guest to see the pool. All we asked was to see it from the entrance. There was a rude and obnoxious pimple face Poindexter looking kids talking to me. It was obvious we were not dressed for the occasion, so we were sneaking in. I never had a hard time to take a five minute visit after driving half hour to get to the place. I was always welcomed with a smile and and sometimes a joke or two, and I show my appreciation before I leave. It is obvious not all staff are friendly and someone needs to pull his collar, or fire him.
  • Great place to take the kids, walk the dog, or clear your head. Many trails with breathtaking views of nature. Beautiful lake for boating, kayaking and fishing. Affordable boat and kayak rentals. There's also a park and swimming pool for the kids. GREAT place for the family!
  • Not impressed. We camped there. As campers, we still had to pay for the pool. The was pool large, but the bathrooms were gross. They did have a snack bar, but we didn't eat there. The lake doesn't have a beach, but you wouldn't want to swim in the water anyway. It was murky, foaming and had lots of dead floating fish. The camp sites were small and the pads weren't level. The bathrooms were dirty and needed renovation. There also wasn't a camp store. On the positive side, the campgrounds were quiet except you could hear road noise in the distance.... Doesn't make you feel like you're really enjoying the great outdoors.
  • The pool is cold all summer but sparkling clean. Restrooms have been upgraded in recent years so it's no longer a "nose holder". Beautiful friendly wildlife, boating, and spectacular views. Enjoy the day with the kids, have a picnic, & enjoy the beauty Luzerne County has to offer.
  • Nice little park for a day trip hike or picnic. Nice lake for nonmotor boating. Pool is cold and refreshing all summer. Nice clean camp area.
