  • Beautifully kept park. We seek about places we haven't been to for hiking. I was looking at another park when this popped up. I had just finished a book where the main character was Francis Slocum. It...  more »
  • This is really a great state park... Camping, fishing, boating, pool, picnic, hiking, mountain biking etc.. All sorts of things to do at this park. It does get a bit crowded on weekends in the summer,...  more »

  • I love the outer regions of this park. Very ethereal conifer beds and quiet hiking trails. The main park itself is a bit overcrowded in the summers for me but it's probably great for families, swimming and fishing. I myself, prefer the areas with wildlife and solitude. Here you can find both!
  • Beautiful, clean and serene. The park offers both RV and tent camping, fishing, and boating. And the pool is a delight in the summer! There's a boat launch on the lake for boats with electric motors only, or you can rent a small boat or canoe lakeside. Picnic pavilions can be rented for large gatherings. The park also has barbeque grills and picnic tables for free use too. They made the swimming pool area smoke-free in 2016 which was great.
  • Beautiful and well taken care of state park. Lots of pavilions and trails. Pool is very nice but gets extremely crowded during thr beginning of summer.
  • Great place to take the kids, walk the dog, or clear your head. Many trails with breathtaking views of nature. Beautiful lake for boating, kayaking and fishing. Affordable boat and kayak rentals. There's also a park and swimming pool for the kids. GREAT place for the family!
  • Lovely park just west of Scranton and north of Wilkes-Barre PA. The hiking trails are not very challenging, but the views of the lake from them are pretty. Paddling the lake only takes a couple of hours, so not a day trip, but it is a very pretty lake. Interesting history concerning the park's origins.
