We came right at the heart of ski season expecting it to be a huge crowd but, if you get there early, its actually pretty easy to get equipped and up the slopes in no time. We got there right as the t... more »

We've visited Mountain High in late January/early Feb in previous years, and bless them, they've tried to keep things going, but it's been sparsely covered with snow, with rocky patches and slush. Thi... more »
It was my first skiing experience! I was so thrilled. Best experience ever! Me and my friend visited this place! We took up the skiing lessons for around 99$ each that included all the accessories and skies! We had an amazing time out here learning and our tutor was very well trained and friendly! The best time to be there is on a sunny day during the morning! It gets very cold post sunset! But it's one of the very few places where you can ski even after sunset! They are open till 10 for skiing!
We took our two kids this past three day weekend. The place was pretty full but there was still plenty of space to ski and never more than a three minute wait for lifts. I was blown away by the kindness of the staff and skiers. Even with all of the business, the lift operators had encouraging words and fist bumps for my kids which made them love it even more. Even in the crowded restaurants, the servers made pleasant small talk and seemed genuinely interested in us having a good time. Exemplary customer service made for a really great introduction to skiing for my kiddos. Thanks!
Getting here and parking is very easy. I'm a beginner, but felt that they had a good offering of easy slopes to practice on. However, the rental line was absolutely terrible. It took us close to 3 hours to get all of our gear. We came in a Sunday and understand that it's busier on weekends, but that line was unacceptable. Looking at other reviews, it seems that this is common. Mt High definitely needs to invest in some better facilities/ more employees for rentals.
My 3 kids and I had a great day today skiing. The parking was well-organized and we got close to the main lodge by getting there at 7:30am. Exiting the parking lot was annoying because there were not enough exit signs to guide me. Ticketing was pretty fast, though I had to stand in the much longer "Online/VIP" line because the other 5 lines couldn't handle online tickets. After that, everything was super smooth. The lift lines were usually just 3 mins. and at most 6 min.s. We used The Blue Ridge Express chair lift for almost the whole day, which was the fastest/highest chair on the West mountain. We were really impressed by the extensive groomed runs, which really helped turn the crusty top layer of snow that froze overnight into a pristine silky smooth ski experience. The staff on the slopes and in the dining area all had great attitudes. Even when my son lost his ticket, they replaced it happily. Lastly, the pizza was very tasty --they must make the dough daily.
Its an awesome feeling that in Southern Cali you can hit the slopes. But in my opinion, whoever runs this place needs to be replaced. Its a gem that has so much potential. If there was any care for the place, it would be perfect. The least they could do is keep their lifts and carpets up and running. It is NOT OKAY to have to walk up to where the lifts should take you.
