This loop, starting at the north parking lot to purisima creek, then craig britton trail, was beautiful. The creek was still active and most of the hike was tree lined and beautifully green with ferns... more »
We really enjoyed this almost 7 km hike on well managed trails. The views were great. While this was a medium difficulty trail, this did pose a challenge for a couple in our family who were a little l... more »
We did an amazing 7.2 mile loop hike. The hike was mostly shaded with some patches in the sun. Definitely recommend sun screen + sun glasses and cap. If going in the winter it gets really chilly in the morning. Would recommend layers.
Excellent and hidden place. Warning: there is no guard rails on the windy roads near it so drive slow and carefully. Also there is no cell service(at least at&t)! Similar or may be better than muir woods! Kids friendly but if you wheelchair or stroller take the “purisima trail” as the others are more steep
The very heavy duty Trail make sure you have water good hiking shoes because it goes up to 2000 feet worth it. Lots of great things to look at and examine. Banana slugs lots of fungus beautiful trees nice creek
Love this place! It's October.. and it was drier & hotter than we expected but if you can hang on until you reach the thicker canopied trails you'll love it. We parked at the south lot. Be prepared: the first 2 miles are almost straight down, down, down, downhill. (This means your last 2 miles to get back to the parking lot will be up, up, up, uphill!) Hard work but super fun. Great place to relax in the quiet valleys.
Part of a network of trails. It's a gem of a trail, if you desire a stroll through a beautiful redwood forest. The trail offers easy and mid-level hiking. A great place to see banana slugs during the springtime. Water is usually flowing down the creek, to add a soothing sound.
