The Farm house was built in 1889, later a potting shed was added behind it, also a carriage house which has been converted to a gift shop (only open once a year during Lilac Days) and many original plants still exist on the property. There is an Executive Board that runs the garden along with the help of approximately 200 members and volunteers that maintain all buildings and grounds all year round.Use our Woodland trip builder to add Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens and other attractions to your Woodland vacation plans.

Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens Reviews
Such a homey setting; the lilac bushes are amazing and the varieties stunning. A wonderful garden experience. Huldah was a contemporary of my gr-grandmother, and family legend says that the lilac bush... more »
We went to Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens Although it was past the main lilac season - which is just three weeks - we did enjoy seeing the other plants and flowers, There is also a historic home on site. ... more »
We visited at the end of the lilac season, but the gardens were beautiful. Unfortunately if you go outside the "lilac days" the restrooms are locked up. more »
A great time for the whole family. The lawns are big enough for young kids to run around without getting into anyone's way. The boy scouts are on hand to carry anything you purchased that was too heavy. There is lots to look at as there are five acres of well maintained plants and see buildings full of stuff.
This a very beautiful garden hidden well. In the of seasons it is best when there isn't anyone there. Very peaceful.
This garden is so beautiful. The people who run it and maintain it are all volunteer and you can really see the love they put into it. Lilac Days is a really fun time to go. They have lilacs for sale at good prices, knowledgeable people to help you know what to to with your lilac when you buy it, music, and peaceful places to sit and take it all in. It's a wonderful place. My husband and I have gone a few times this season and will again.
Open Seasonally of course 😀 So, April - July is best as various species of flowers will be bloom. My favorite thing is that it's never packed with people as to feel rushed. I often enjoy going to Gardens to just decompress by brining a snack, a good book, and listen for various birds in the trees. Lilac gardens will have events and on those days..The gift shop will be open, bake goods store, and historical informative display booths. "Course the house too." You'll have to check the web page for events as those days my change with the weather. Still event days are fun for a family outing, mother in law absolutely love it "ez brownie pts" 🤠 Non event days, it's not uncommon to have the whole garden to yourself or selves to enjoy some peace as mentioned above 🙄 FYI..There is a train that will go by if your there for length of time..So, a train whistle will be thrown in at no extra charge. 🤓
It is a reasonably well maintained property. I wish it were my backyard! It's worth a visit in the spring and early summer.
