G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium is a stadium in the Coles Magisterial District of Prince William County, Virginia. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Potomac Nationals minor league baseball team. It was built in 1984. The stadium is located near the McCoart Government Center, the offices of the Prince William County Service Authority and the Sean Connaughton Community Plaza. It holds 6,000 people.ImprovementsAfter the 2011 season, the field was redone to upgrade it to MLB specifications, as the previous field failed to meet those standards. This was done due to moving a series because of unsafe conditions.2012 FireA one-alarm fire caused by an inside gas leak destroyed the facility's business offices on June 29, 2012. There were no fatalities or injuries. Other parts of the stadium, including the concession stands one level below the offices, were not damaged. The fire put the Nationals' mascot Uncle Slam out of action for the remainder of the Carolina League season.

  • To me the Potomac Nationals (that play at Pfitzner Stadium) represent americana - something to see and do that brings folks together. And on Monday night home games admission and hot dogs are just $1 ...  read more »
  • Wonderful stadium. Great view from all seats. Staff extremely helpful. Plenty of food choices. Family seating, no beer allowed in that section.
  • What fun to see a good baseball game that's affordable to bring the whole family. On Monday nights it's only $1.00 to get in and. $1.00 hotdogs. Lots of fun.
  • Love the Pfitz - great minor-league park. Affordable, comfortable, and fun. Only knock is that it will probably take you a while to get there.
  • So the stadium is a bit of a dump and the food is over-priced and of questionable quality - but it's still a lot of fun to watch a game here. Staff is great.
  • Basic softball facilities, fields in great shape, nothing to complain about. There is a bmx track in the back side if you are into that, so that's cool.
  • Great small stadium. The seat are amazingly close to the game, with a family feeling. The only down side is there is no shaded seats to watch the game during hot, sunny summer days.
  • Great, old school feel.
