  • Stopped here on May 16, 2017. I have always thought if I drive I-40 past Winslow this would be a stop. It was easy to find and I had lunch at the sandwich shop across from the statues. I was there about an hour. I found it very wheelchair accessible.
  • Look guy, you weren't the first to think "dude, I'm going to Winslow to stand on the corner!!" You have to do it though just to say you did. It is worth it, but just like most things in life that have been fantasized about in your mind since you were 6yrs old, it's kind of a let down. But let's be honest, it's still awesome and you're already used to being let down so it turns out to meet your wise, experienced expectations. Make the detour and post it on social media! Godspeed.
  • Cute corner that's been commercialized. There were more tourists so you'd have to try carefully to not have a stranger in your photo. That happens though :) They even had a flatbed Ford right there and a statue of Glenn Frey.
  • Awesome Place to Visit. Don at the Shop is a terrific person. A war vet, and a hell of great person to talk to while shopping at Standin' On The Corner of Winslow
  • When we first realized we'd be driving through Winslow, Arizona, we decided to photograph each other "standing on a corner", to commemorate the Eagles' first hit single, "Take It Easy", written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey. Then, we discovered that there already is a park at the particular intersection where Jackson Browne stood as he picked his guitar, composing his song. The lady working in the Hallmark Store across the street told us that Browne actually stood on her corner when he was let out of the police car after spending a night in jail. The Park on 2nd (Historic Route 66) and Kinsley, which draws visitors from all over, features a life-size bronze statue and a mural depicting the story behind the famous song. The park is paved with inscribed bricks purchased by donors, whose funds helped to pay for the building of the park. While the wall behind the statue looks like a typical store front, with upstairs windows and vines climbing up the brick, a closer inspection reveals the "Slowing Down To Take A Look" mural by John Pugh. Unfortunately, when we arrived we found a chain link fence surrounding the Park due to the recent fire in the building behind, so we took a photo of each of us standin' on different corners at the same intersection.
