Had a great time, learned a lot and saw some awesome trains!
Awesome place to take your kids. Especially around the holidays.
The railroad used to serve a granite quarry. We came for a ride on the real train to a pumpkin patch. There were games for the kids and the place and its staff were amazing. The scenery is beautiful.
This is a nice day trip, if you live within a couple of hours of a drive. I took my two children and we had a blast. Fairly priced tickets too. The patron will learn a lot of history as they take the train through the country side and into granite rock areas.
Very enjoyable. You'll see some old equipment ranging from cranes to steam locomotives. There is also several former US Airforce locomotives operating on site. The personal is extremely warm and friendly. When it comes to museums I'm normally critical. This place is top notch. It is well worth deviating from I-77 at Hwy 34 in South Carolina.
