  • My husband, a friend and I went to Blue Hole Regional Park in February. We were very pleasantly surprised at the 126-acre park along Cypress Creek. It has about 3.5 miles of hiking trails, picnic area...  more »
  • Took a side trip in January to see this area attraction. Got in for free because of off season but would not pay the price if in season. Considered one of Texas swimming holes but not for a retired co...  more »

  • It's changed a lot since my childhood. You used to be able to just walk up, was in the middle of nowhere. Now there's a ticket booth and it's paved with permanent paths. I understand why they did it however. People were trashing it and it needed preservation. It's still a beautiful place.
  • Great place... absolutely gorgeous but gets very busy in summer and weekends. This year during high season you must make reservations.
  • Playground, water area, and plenty of free family events throughout the year. If you’re a Wimberley resident the park has local nights for swimming at a discount.
  • Just an amazing place. You will want to get there early since they will only sell 250 wristbands per day to swim. You don't have to buy one if you just want to explore the trails. Adults were $9 and kids 2-12 are $5 each to swim. Its almost like a tropical oasis in the desert. The swimming hole is about the length of 2 football fields and has a couple of rope swings. On both banks there are towering Knob Cypress keeping it cool even on a hot day. The water is a constant 67f so it may seem a bit cold at first bit is so refreshing. One side is pretty deep and one is shallow enough to easily walk in. The best part is the crystal clear water. Bring a mask if you can and you will be able to see father than any other swimming hole in TX. Its a magical place and my family loved it.
  • Freezing!!! But relaxing, fun, and very beautiful!!! We loved floating around the watering hole. And the teenager enjoyed the rope swings. And we thought ahead, to pack a picnic. So it made for a great summer outing!
