  • The animals here were in not so roomy cages and our area once had a protest against this place because of that. I cant remember if they let you take photos or not.
  • Nice cost friendly experience for the entire family. The kids loved it and would recommend for any age group.
  • I am a frequent visitor at this zoo, so I can personally attest to the condition and care of the animals. The main point of my review is to clarify some misperceptions I have read on some reviews. Eac...  more »

  • Amazing zoo. My family and I go a few times a year. Great place to get close to the animals and feed some of them. The only downside is the snack bar is closed a lot beside that this zoo is perfect with great rates. It is easy to spend all day there walking the stroller friendly trails and feeding the goats and bears.
  • Overall kinda sad. Not very appealing from the road. The facility could use some upgrades and general care. The animals look content for the circumstances. They cages cheaply made and under cared for. They did have some cool animals though. I've never seen a bear up close.
  • This zoo was better than we expected from the looks on the outside. It was spacious, clean, quiet and overall beautiful, it had a stroller path to make it easy on parents with little ones. They had many animals, that looked like they were in good condition. You can buy corn or peanuts and feed several animals. Admission prices were affordable for such a lovely time. Warning, bring water bottles, and be sure to stop by the restroom before you begin because it's a long walk without seeing a bathroom for a long trek. Also, when you see a bench stop and take a seat, as there weren't many places to sit down along the way. The cages were on the small side, I hope to see them expand the animal cages in the future, but I give the zoo props for how clean all the cages were. I hope to go there again many times again with the whole family.
  • I'm not an activist againt zoos. I LOVE the NC Zoo amongst others. This zoo is the worst of the worst. The monkeys have no water and are barely hanging on. The Lions and Tigers are in cages the size of my bathroom. The giraffes small exhibit had no shade whatsoever and it was leaning against a wall just waiting to die. The bear is enclosed in a very small cage as well with poop everywhere. I hopped a fence to notify the workers at the maintenance shed and found three disgusting creatures resembling men sleeping in an air-conditioned room while the animals were panting from the heat and lack of water/shade. Do not support this place, do not give them your money, DO pray for these animals!
  • This zoo is great. We thought it was going to be small from the looks of the outside.. but, it is nice and big! It was very clean and it was easy to push our stroller. It was perfect for our kids ages 1-6. They loved the fact that they could feed the animals. It was easy for them to see the animals and feed them. You can tell that the owners def care for these animals. I would def recommend this zoo to anyone. It was fairly cheap to for our family of 6. I will def go back to this zoo. Good job to the owners!!
